Ride Operators

This position is for the safety conscious individual who loves to see people smile. Ride Park staff members are responsible for the efficient operation of our rides and for ensuring that each guest feels welcome and safe.  Expect high exposure to sun and heat

Main Responsibilities and Duties of a Fun-Plex Ride Operator:

  • Complete comprehensive ride operator training
  • Attend scheduled training in-services
  • Assure guest safety before, during, and after ride operation
  • Provide for an exciting day by greeting guests with enthusiasm
  • Enforce rules in a strict, yet professional and friendly manner
  • Perform various tasks each day to keep your work area and the park clean & safe
  • All Fun-Plex employees are expected to work outside their home department from time to time to ensure the success of the entire park.
  • Minimum Age: 16

Lifeguard Team

As a lifeguard, you will use your certified knowledge to ensure a safe day of swimming for our guests. You will enforce park policies and utilize your training when scanning pools for distressed swimmers and dispatching sliders. Throughout your shift, you will be rotated through several water attractions and will be responsible for knowing and communicating all specific rules to our guests. Expect high exposure to sun and heat, and to wear your swimwear uniform for each shift.

Training Requirements:

  • Complete a Starguard Lifeguard Certification course: Fun-Plex only accepts Starguard Certification, which is provided to all selected candidates.
  • Lifeguard Course Deposit: $100 for new staff*
  • Certifications Earned: StarGuard Lifeguard, HSI Basic Life Support, HSI Basic First Aid, HSI Bloodborne Pathogens. Opportunity to earn ELITE Dispatch Certificate during the season
  • Approximately 6-8  hours of online coursework and two full days of in-person training.
  • Swimming prerequisites: 150-meter continuous swim, deep water brick retrieval from 11 feet, and tread water for 1 minute without using hands.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitor pools by scanning for swimmer safety and promoting adherence to park rules.
  • Attend to slide catch pools, dispatch swimmers from slides, and assist with other aquatic attractions to help ensure a positive and safe experience for all guests.
  • Provide minor first aid and emergency medical care until EMS arrives.
  • Enforce park rules professionally and consistently.
  • Attend scheduled training in-services.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of assigned work areas.
  • Assist outside your home department as needed to support overall park operations.

Minimum Age: 16

* The course deposit helps cover the costs of qualified instructors, training materials, and certification fees. The deposit is fully refundable for employees who successfully complete the entire season through September 6th.  Certifications can be renewed yearly for a $75 deposit.  Payment plans are available by request.

All staff who demonstrate the required skills and meet certification standards throughout employment may, with the program director’s approval, keep their lifeguard certification for future jobs.

Slide Dispatch Team

As a Slide Dispatcher, you will help ensure a smooth and well-managed experience for our guests by controlling rider flow and clearly communicating slide rules and instructions. You may be assigned to water slides, slide run-outs, splash pads, or aquaplay structures, and will rotate through multiple non-deep water attractions throughout your shift. Staff are trained to recognize and respond to emergency situations in an aquatic environment. Expect extended time outdoors, exposure to sun and heat, and frequent use of stairs throughout your shift.

Training Requirements:

  • Complete a Starguard ELITE Dispatch Certification course: Fun-Plex only accepts Starguard Certification, which is provided to all selected candidates.
  • ELITE Dispatch course deposit: $100 for new staff”
  • Approximately 2–2.5 hours of online coursework and two in-person training sessions.
  • Certifications Earned: ELITE Dispatch, HSI Basic Life Support, HSI Basic First Aid, HSI Bloodborne Pathogens
  • No swimming prerequisites: Slide dispatchers are not required to complete swimming prerequisites or wear a swimsuit uniform, as their duties are limited to slides and surface attractions only.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitor water slides by managing rider flow, clearly communicating rules and instructions to each guest, and monitoring slide run-outs at the end of each ride.
  • Assist with other non-deep water attractions by promoting appropriate behavior and helping ensure a positive experience for all guests
  • Provide minor first aid and emergency medical care until EMS arrives.
  • Enforce park rules professionally and consistently.
  • Attend scheduled training in-services.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of assigned work areas.
  • Assist outside your home department as needed to support overall park operations.

Minimum Age: 16

Concessions
When our guests have worked up an appetite, our food and beverage staff members are ready to serve! As a member of the Concessions team, you will need to be outgoing, able to multi task, and work well with a team.   Our concessions is divided into two teams, our Front-of-House team who take and fill orders, and our Back-of-House team prepare and make cooked items.

Front-of-House (FOH) Team  

  • Take customer orders and process payments
  • Prepare drinks and assemble orders
  • Keep customer dining areas clean
  • Minimum Age: 15

Back-of-House (BOH) Team  

  • Prep menu items that will be cooked during the day
  • Cook items such as chicken strips, burgers, and pizza by using fryers, grills, and ovens
  • Stock and clean kitchen service areas
  • Minimum Age: 16

Responsibilities and Duties of all Concessions Team Members

  • Follow food safety guidelines and practice good personal hygiene
  • Maintain a well stocked and clean work area
  • Concession staff may also work in our picnic grounds serving drinks and cleaning tables
  • All Fun-Plex employees are expected to work outside their home department from time to time to ensure the success of the entire park.

Bartender 

As a part of our Breakers Bay Swim-Up Bar team, you will need to be able to multi task and provide speedy service with enthusiasm! This individual is friendly, outgoing, and works well in a fast paced environment.

Main Responsibilities and Duties of a Fun-Plex Bartender

  • Take customer orders and process payments
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages
  • Keep customer lounge areas clean
  • Follow food safety guidelines and practice good personal hygiene
  • Maintain a well stocked and clean work area
  • Concession staff may also work in our picnic grounds serving drinks and cleaning tables
  • All Fun-Plex employees are expected to work outside their home department from time to time to ensure the success of the entire park.
  • Bartending, serving, or hosting experience is required.
  • Minimum Age: 21

 

    Admissions 

    As an admissions staff member, you set the tone for the entire day for our guests. This position requires an extrovert personality. We are looking for individuals who are observably outgoing, energetic, and have a welcoming and friendly personality. You will use your infectiously positive attitude to greet and assist our guests with everything they need to have a great day at the park.

    Main Responsibilities and Duties of a Fun-Plex Admissions Team Member:

    • Process orders and payments for park tickets, gift shop purchases, and cabana rentals
    • Scan tickets/passes and conduct bag checks at the park entrance
    • Provide for an exciting day by greeting guests with enthusiasm
    • Perform various tasks each day to keep your work area and the park clean & safe
    • All Fun-Plex employees are expected to work outside their home department from time to time to ensure the success of the entire park.
    • Minimum Age: 15

    Cleaning Crew

    Our cleaning crew primarily takes care for our restroom facilities to assure that our guests have a comfortable and cleanly visit.  These team members must have great time management skills and an eye for detail.

    Main Responsibilities and Duties of the Fun-Plex Cleaning Crew

    • Clean and disinfect restrooms both at the beginning of the day and throughout
    • Take care for cleanliness of other areas such as offices, breakrooms and lobbies
    • Be familiar with and comfortable with various cleaning tools and chemicals
    • Schedules vary with hours available from 8am-8pm
    • All Fun-Plex employees are expected to work outside their home department from time to time to ensure the success of the entire park.
    • Minimum Age: 18

    Grounds Crew

    Our grounds crew helps to keep the park clean, orderly, and trash free.  This person is hard-working, works well independently or as part of a time, and takes pride in a job well done.

    Main Responsibilities and Duties of the Fun-Plex Grounds Crew

    • Trash removal both at the beginning of the day and throughout
    • Hosing sidewalks and park furniture to prepare the park for the day
    • Carry out other tasks such as arranging furniture, cleaning tables, and directing parking
    • Early morning availability is required at least 4 days per week. Schedules vary with hours available from 7am-8pm
    • All Fun-Plex employees are expected to work outside their home department from time to time to ensure the success of the entire park.
    • Minimum Age: 18
